Trim

A diver’s ‘trim’ describes their body position in the water. Given that we need special equipment that is necessary for us to breathe underwater, we still try to minimise our resistance in the water by being as streamlined as possible. This photo is a great example of being streamlined- despite the fact that this is a first-time diver, his body position is excellent. Just the air gauge is dangling too low 😦

Streamlining yourself- or being ‘in trim’ maximises your efficiency in the water, reducing effort, and avoiding damage to the environment, your equipment and yourself!
