How to get there?

The Maldives is a unique cluster of islands with one island serving a unique purpose; for example  one island is dedicated to schooling, one for rubbish disposal, there is even a prison in this tropical paradise!
The Maldivian international airport Ibrahim Nasir is located on Hulhule Island, approximately a 10min boat ride from the capital island of Male.
From Hulhule, you will need to take a 35min domestic flight to Kadhdhoo Island (airport code KDO).
The domestic terminal is really close to the international airport in Hulhule, a 2 min walk will get you there. Walk out of the customs gate, turn right and walk down to the domestic terminal.
IMPORTANT: 2 domestic airports in the southern Maldives have very similar names:  Kadhdhoo (Written KDO on your plane ticket) in Laamu Atoll, or Kaadhedhoo (Written KDM on the plane ticket). Kadhdhoo (KDO) is the one you want!
Update 2013: and latelly, another one was created and its name is…. Kooddoo (GKK). Logic.
Kaadhedhoo and Kooddoo are located in another atoll, Gaafu Alifu atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu atoll,  and it might be complicated to get back to Laamu if you end up there by mistake…
If you booked your accomodation with “Reveries Diving Village” , the hotel will come to pick you up from the airport.
A 25min car ride will take you to the hotel and the dive center…
For booking you domestic plane ticket from Male to Laamu atoll: click here. You can also ask to the Reveries hotel to arrange your domestic plane, the price will be the same.
Enjoy your flight, as the scenery is really beautiful!
Hope to see you soon!
